Membership in Resolve of Houston extends couples and individuals who are struggling with infertility a multitude of services and benefits that offer personal contact and professional referrals, services typically not available from online support groups. 80% of our board members resolve either through pregnancy or adoption. The more you are involved the more information you gather and the more successful you become. Everyone know what you give you will get back. Want you give two to three hours a month of your time! Most of our positions can be done at home. Access to local and national HelpLines. They allow individuals with questions or concerns to talk to volunteers who have been through the infertility crises and who can offer suggestions, referrals and most importantly, a listening ear. Physician Referrals. This service provides access to a listing of surveyed infertility specialists in the greater Houston area and anywhere throughout the country where there are RESOLVE chapters. Meetings and Symposiums. Educational programs and peer support groups are held regularly, in addition to annual Symposiums which offer a comprehensive look at the various aspects of resolving infertility, including treatment options and adoption. Newsletters. Local and national quarterly newsletters that feature information about medical and emotional aspects of infertility, educational meetings, workshops, support groups, advocacy updates, internet resources, reviews of medical journal articles and more. Member-to-Member Contact. Both the local and national HelpLines have listings of individuals who have volunteered to talk about their experiences with a wide range of treatments, diagnoses and emotional aspects of infertility. This contact system provides an invaluable way to discuss the issues anonymously on a one-to-one basis in person. Professional Support Groups. Professionally and peer led support groups for various phases of the infertility process are started on an ongoing basis. Medical Information Service. Membership entitles you to a free consultation with the National RESOLVE Medical Information Counselor who will help you understand your treatment plan and formulate questions to ask your doctor. Medical call-in is available Wednesdays from 12-3 p.m. Central time by calling 617.623.0744. Lending Library. Gives you access to reading material dealing with a wide range of infertility issues, including the monthly medical journal Fertility & Sterility. Annual Resource Directory. Listing of advertisements from infertility programs, therapists, pharmacies, sperm banks, surrogacy programs, adoption agencies and others. Eligibility for discounts on: RESOLVE fact sheets Admission costs to the Chapter symposiums and other meetings and events Professionally-led short-term support groups Consumer Information. Including fact sheets and publications on over 60 infertility-related topics. Advocacy. Media campaigns for public awareness and advocacy for legal and insurance reform is ongoing and open to all those interested in becoming active for infertility insurance reform. Maintains and updates various RESOLVE databases of address listings of professionals for mailing lists.   Corporate Sponsorship Coordinator - New! Develop database and letter to distribute to community businesses for fundraising efforts.   Golf Outing Coordinator - New! Anyone who has organized a golf event before, or who would like to is welcome to coordinate a golf outing. We need a special social event for the men in our membership!   New! Assistant Positions Available:   Peer-Led Support Group Assistant - New! Assist the coordinator with monthly peer-led "Coffee & Conversation" meetings by holding general meeting or coordinate the meeting at another location. A committee and developed groups are already in place for the meetings. Potentially develop new groups to expand member benefits as we grow.   Physician's Contact Assistant - New! Assist the Physician's Contact with distributing RESOLVE pamphlets to doctor's offices and contacting doctors and other professionals to maintain database and communication with professionals.   Monthly Meeting Assistant - New! Assists Program Director with monthly educational meetings set up and hospitality, and mailing monthly notices to members.   Newsletter Assistant - New! Assists Newsletter Editor with obtaining articles, layout and printing.   Social Assistant - New! Works with Social Coordinator to plan and host member social events including Ladies Night Out, Movie Weekends, member celebrations and other events.
